1 : Terminator zero anime on Netflix
Terminator Zero” doesn’t offer salvation, nor is it another “Salvation,” but it does admirably try to bundle up all the past “Terminators,” acknowledge their existence, and move forward. Starring a brand new set of characters, the Netflix anime series from showrunner and writer Mattson Tomlin isn’t dependent on fans remembering everything that came before, so much as it subtly deploys easter eggs for those of us who’ve been in the trenches, while constructing a narrative that can support itself and all those disparate threads about Skynet, Terminators, and Judgment Day. As a new “Terminator” entry, it’s fairly clever. As a new action-anime series, it’s disappointingly rote.
2 : The Frog on Netflix
Netflix has dropped a teaser for Korean thriller series The Frog, which is launching August 23.
Directed by Mo Wan-il (The World of The Married), The Frog is billed by Netflix as a story that “revolves around ordinary people whose peaceful lives are thrown into turmoil by the arrival of a mysterious guest in the middle of summer.”
The teaser opens with the arrival of mysterious guest Seong-a (played by Ko) at a tranquil pension home in the middle of the woods.
3 : Batman: Caped Crusader
With Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond creator Bruce Timm on board, alongside The Batman director Matt Reeves and executive producers James Tucker and JJ Abrams, there’s certainly an impressive pedigree when it comes to the latest Bats-centric animated offering.
However, the reimagining features a number of creative changes to the Caped Crusader’s origin tale and his iconic array of villains and allies which could prove somewhat divisive when it comes to die-hard fans.
